Encouraging Young Kiwis
We, as a nation seem to be lacking in young bird enthusiasts, particularly girls, so our main aim is to get children, and indeed all ages, back into watching the birds.
These are our goals here at the Young Birders New Zealand group. We hope you can help us achieve these goals, and bring back the bird-watchers of New Zealand!
Birding, twitching or bird-watching has been an important part of New Zealand, especially over the past 20 or so years, with many rare sightings from around the country. So now it's time to pass this hobby to the next generation.

Help Ensure the Future of Birding in New Zealand
Saving New Zealand's unique birds is very important to us. So we want to set our goals to assist and promote conservation.
Increase Awareness of our Birds
Birds are a huge part of kiwi culture, we're even named after a species of bird. So why don't we know more about New Zealand birds? Well this is something we would like to change.
Get Schools to Encourage Bird-Watching in NZ.
Without help from schools and similar foundations we won't have a chance of getting our voice heard nationwide, so a good relationship is crucial.
Get People Involved with all parts of Nature
We aren't all lovers of birds, and we do want to encourage people to pick jobs in all the areas of nature to ensure a healthy New Zealand in the future.
